This policy explains what information VYLT collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. VYLT is software for hairstylists and salons, built and operated by Liz Dimension LLC ("VYLT," "we," "us").
Account information. When you create a VYLT account, we collect your name, email address, and (if you sign up as a salon) your business/team information. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google. A cosmetology license number is collected at signup as part of our professional-use verification.
Client information you enter. VYLT is built for you to store your own clients' records — names, contact details, notes, and any other information you choose to log about them. This data belongs to you; VYLT stores it on your behalf so you can access it across devices.
Formula and service records. Color formulas, product usage, appointment history, and photos you upload (e.g. before/after images) tied to a client's record.
Inventory information. Products, brands, quantities, and purchase history you log for your own cabinet/inventory tracking.
Calendar information. If you connect a calendar integration, we access the appointment data needed to sync scheduling — only what's required for that feature to work.
VYLT's AI-assisted features (formula suggestions, the assistant, photo analysis) send relevant context from your own account data to our AI provider, Anthropic (the maker of Claude), to generate a response. This data is used to generate your requested response and is not used by VYLT to train any model. AI suggestions are based on your own records and general color theory — see our Terms of Service for the full AI disclaimer.
Like most web applications, our servers automatically log standard technical information (IP address, browser type, timestamps, error logs) to keep the service running reliably and to diagnose problems.
VYLT uses browser local storage and session tokens (not third-party tracking cookies) to keep you signed in and store your app preferences. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
We use a small number of third-party services to operate VYLT, and only share the data each one needs to do its job:
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls on our servers. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but protecting your and your clients' information is a core design principle of VYLT.
We retain your account and client data for as long as your account is active. If you delete a client, formula, note, or photo within the app, it's removed from your active records. If you close your account, contact us and we'll delete your account data, subject to what we need to retain for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.
If you're a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) to know what personal information we hold about you and to request its deletion. Contact us using the information below to exercise these rights.
VYLT is a professional tool for licensed cosmetology professionals and is not directed at or intended for use by children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
We may update this policy as VYLT's features change. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
